the Blue Moon Necklace

The blue moon, we use it to describe a moment that is rare to experience, but in truth a blue moon comes along more often than you would think. A blue moon is when there are two full moons within the same month, the second one is called a blue moon. I made this necklace to honor the magic of those rare moments, and the blessing of the full moon’s light. 

+ Hand forged, rustic, heavy gauge reclaimed sterling silver moon pendant, and aquamarine stone pendant set in reclaimed sterling silver on a brass backplate with a rustic reclaimed sterling silver ball on the bottom of the pendant.

*** Brass will naturally tarnish with regular wear, developing a beautiful patina over time. Sterling silver does the opposite, the more you wear it the less it will tarnish, or need polished. Regular wear will keep the silver on your new necklace looking bright and shiny, while the brass darkens, and a unique contrast takes shape between the two metals. 

+ Moon pendant is ⅝” long from top of bail to bottom of pendant and ⅜” wide at widest point. Aquamarine pendant is ⅞” long from top of bail to bottom of pendant and ½” wide at widest point.

+ 2mm sterling silver bead chain is 20” long with a 10” drop 

+ 16, 18, 24, and 30 inch sterling silver bead chains available upon request

+ Hand fabricated by me start to finish using hand tools
