Re-introducing the [Re]Claimed Collection

If you have been following my work for quite a while you may remember that I have released some re-worked felt hats in the past. I take a high quality hat, re-shape it, give it some Rebel Pine Studio character, and breathe new life into a dusty old cowboy hat. 

I have a stash of hats in my studio, and it felt like time to bring the [Re]Claimed Collection back out of the archives.

The Grateful Hat is the first new offering of this revived collection.

Hand-Beaded Necklaces

6 new necklaces beaded by my hands in my studio with loads of turquoise and only the highest quality beads of glass, semi-precious stones, bone, wood, and metal (no plastic).


I love these pieces as a fun way to get to play with color combinations, patterns, and different materials in a creative way. They are solid stand alone pieces, but I especially love them layered with other necklaces.

the Lilac Wood Collection

Made with handcrafted lilac wood cabochons set in reclaimed sterling silver. The raw lilac wood was processed start to finish by hand cutting, sanding, and polishing. No oils or finishes have been adding to the wood so as not to diminish the unique lilac coloring. Over time the wood will naturally darken. Do not get the wood wet.

the Curated Vintage Collection

One of the best things about vintage goods to me is being able to see the life it lived before it found you. It’s those little character marks, the fading, and the patina that draw my eye to these pieces. It’s their imperfections that make them beautiful to me.

Rivers have universal themes that cross cultures and are part of our ancestral connections to the earth as human beings.  They are in our DNA.  Whether it's the innate human desire some of us are simply born with to swing flies on their waters in search of fish, or that yearning to dip and submerge our bodies in them... rivers are in our blood.

Meet the Artist

Hey, I’m River and I’m happy you are here.  I live and create in the beautiful Black Hills of western South Dakota on Oglala Sioux ancestral land.  My wife and I live a slow, simple life here with our two rescue pups...and that’s exactly how we like it.  Spending time in the mountains I am surrounded by not only inspires my work, but it restores and recharges me.  When I’m not tinkering away in the studio you can find me outside trail running, hiking, tenkara fly fishing, camping or just sitting by the water somewhere sipping a beer and enjoying the beauty around me.

Sustainably Made

The time has finally come when I’ve been able to check another sustainability goal off my list. Recently, I sent all the scrap silver I had to be recycled. Any new sheet silver I purchase going forward for hand fabrication will be reclaimed/recycled sterling silver. Now you can feel even better about purchasing a mindfully, sustainably handcrafted piece of wearable art from Rebel Pine Studio.
