This piece got its name from a place close to my heart, a place the Lakota people call Matȟó Pahá (Bear Mountain). It is a mountain on the prairie near the Black Hills that is a sacred place to many plains Indian tribes including the Lakota. From afar you can see its sleeping bear shaped body rising from the surrounding plains and feel its powerful energy.

***Brass will patina with time and wear creating a unique contrast to the shine of the sterling silver. The more you wear brass, the more patina you get. The more you wear your silver it will tarnish less. The more often you wear your new piece you will get the best out of both metals.

+ Hand forged heavy gauge brass pendant with reticulated mountain at the top of the pendant, and hand stamped bear with reclaimed sterling silver bail.

+ Brass pendant is 13/16” long from top of bail to bottom of pendant and 9/16” wide at widest point.

+ Hand beaded necklace strand is made from black Czech glass beads and black obsidian accent beads. Beaded on a heavy duty waxed thread and closed with a waxed knot under a brass bead. The necklace is 28” long with a 14” drop.

+ 2mm sterling silver bead chains are available upon request instead of the hand beaded strand in 16, 18, 20, 24, and 30 inch lengths. Chose the chain option, add it to your cart, and leave a note at checkout as to what length of chain you would like.
