the Shin Shin Necklace

I had to make a piece as prayer, an offering to winter in hopes of some late season, or spring snow. Here in the mountain west it has been like a mild spring all winter long, with virtually no snow. I love the snow and I’ve missed getting to experience that deep and profound quiet that only happens during a snowy winter. 

Shin Shin is a Japanese onomatopoeia that is often interpreted to mean the “sound of no sound” and is used to describe the quiet, spiritual sound of falling snow. 

+ Hand fabricated heavy gauge reclaimed sterling silver  snowflake pendant with heavy gauge reclaimed sterling silver and copper pendant with crazy lace agate stone.

+ Snowflake Pendant is 1” long from top of bail to bottom of pendant and 11/16” wide at widest point. Crazy lace agate pendant is approx. 1 ½” from the top of the jump rings to the bottom of the pendant and approx. 1” wide at the widest point.

+ 2mm sterling silver bead chain is 18” long with a 9” drop 

+ 16, 20, 24, and 30 inch sterling silver bead chains available upon request+ Hand fabricated by me start to finish using hand tools
